What classic registration means
It is the entry, on the registration certificate, of the “véhicule de collection” use. The title remains a SIV title: keeper, address, technical data. A mention is added that changes the roadworthiness-test rules and, often, how insurers treat the vehicle.
The Highway Code (R.311-1) defines a collector vehicle by age, the end of production of the type, and respect for the original configuration. Without those three pillars, the mention has no basis.
This is not a “prestige” registration, nor a licence to modify the vehicle at will. It is a heritage status, regulated, that ANTS grants only with proof of dating and specification.
