About the FIV

This procedure provides an official document summarising your vehicle's technical characteristics. It is essential, in particular, when you need to pass the roadworthiness test (contrôle technique) but your carte grise is no longer available.

When should you request an FIV?

  • Your carte grise has been lost or stolen and you need to pass a roadworthiness test
  • You no longer have the original registration certificate and need an official document identifying the vehicle

Documents to send us

  • Valid photo ID
  • A completed and signed authorisation mandate (Cerfa form 13757*03)
  • A completed and signed loss or theft declaration (Cerfa form 13754*03)

At the end of the procedure, you receive:

Service fee: €40 incl. VAT.

On Cerfa form 13754, tick either loss or theft depending on your situation.
