FFVE certificate for a French vehicle

What is the FFVE certificate for?

The FFVE reviews a questionnaire and precise photos to check that the vehicle qualifies for classic status. The certificate is not a registration document: it then allows you to apply for the “collection” mention with the ANTS or an authorised professional.

For an imported vehicle over 30 years old, the FFVE certificate often replaces a manufacturer COC when that document is no longer available.

Eligibility conditions

• The vehicle is more than 30 years old
• The model is no longer in production
• The vehicle has not been substantially modified
• It is not used for professional purposes
• Valid roadworthiness test (including mopeds, where applicable)

Documents and photos to prepare

• Copy of the registration certificate (front and back)
• Valid identity card or passport
• Proof of address less than 6 months old
• Vehicle photos (views required by the FFVE: front, rear, sides, interior, manufacturer plate…)
• Transfer certificate or invoice if you have just bought the vehicle
• Tax clearance (quitus) or customs form 846A if the vehicle is imported

Pricing

• FFVE certificate: €60 (€30 for mopeds ≤ 50 cm³)
• If you then want the classic registration via Office Carte Grise: €100 service fee with FFVE obtained by us, or €40 if you already have the certificate
• Registration taxes: €13.76 if you already hold the title; otherwise the standard rate for a vehicle over 10 years old based on your département

After the certificate

Once you receive the certificate, you can apply for the collection mention on your registration certificate via our classic vehicle procedure, or simply keep the certificate if you do not yet need to update the carte grise.
