ANTS / France Titres 2026: role, SIV and carte grise

ANTS / France Titres 2026: role, SIV and carte grise

Updated October 2026: the ANTS (Agence Nationale des Titres Sécurisés — France’s national agency for secure documents) is officially called France Titres. Still under the Ministry of the Interior (decree of 22 February 2007), it remains the public body for secure titles: the carte grise (vehicle registration certificate), the driving licence, the national ID card and the passport. Prefecture counters are closed for these procedures: everything goes through the online portal or an accredited SIV professional.

Office Carte Grise is not the ANTS website. We are an authorised professional (No. 188573). The official portal is ants.gouv.fr.

Simple or stuck file? Put the carte grise in your name with Office Carte Grise: document checks, SIV transmission, follow-up until the title arrives.

What is the ANTS (France Titres) in 2026?

The ANTS / France Titres helps citizens apply for secure official documents and oversees their tightly controlled production. France Titres is the official name; “ANTS” remains the everyday acronym (website, Google searches, conversations).

  • User portals — registration, driving licence, ID / passport;
  • SIV (Système d’Immatriculation des Véhicules) — the central French carte grise database;
  • Production chain — scanning, Ministry of the Interior, Imprimerie Nationale, La Poste delivery.

The ANTS role for the carte grise (SIV)

Since 15 April 2009, the certificat d’immatriculation has replaced the old “carte grise” (the familiar name remains). It identifies the vehicle and authorises it on the road: without an up-to-date title, you are not in compliance.

France Titres runs the SIV. Private individuals file on the “immatriculation” portal. State-accredited professionals have direct SIV access and submit on behalf of their clients.

Stuck ANTS file: 2026 alternatives

Why is my file still “under analysis”? On the public portal, many files enter a manual validation queue: volume, documents to check, variable delays. The status can stay on screen for days (sometimes longer) with no way to jump the queue.

Accredited professionals (Office Carte Grise, authorisation No. 188573) submit everyday procedures into the SIV, outside the same manual delays of a personal ANTS account. You save time, with document checks up front.

Licence, ID and 2026 updates

The ANTS / France Titres also handles the driving licence and identity titles. The credit-card licence renews every 15 years (every 5 years with a medical check, e.g. some heavy-vehicle licences). Older pink licences remain usable until 2033.

  • France Identité and the digital driving licence — present a digital version where the rules allow;
  • Driving-test age — possible from age 17;
  • ID / passport — online pre-application, then town-hall completion (chip, QR code).

Official site: ants.gouv.fr. For the carte grise, an accredited pro remains a legal alternative to the user portal.

The ANTS portal suits “standard” files. In 2026, what really blocks files are the special cases we handle every day:

FAQ — ANTS / France Titres

Are ANTS and France Titres the same thing?

Yes. France Titres is the official name; “ANTS” remains the historical acronym still widely used for the same public service (and the same ants.gouv.fr site).

What if my ANTS file is stuck “under analysis”?

First check that every document is readable and compliant. If the status stalls, hand the procedure to an accredited professional who submits into the SIV — for example via change of ownership.

Can I get my carte grise somewhere other than the ANTS?

Yes. A professional authorised by the Ministry of the Interior can submit for you. Office Carte Grise (No. 188573) handles change of ownership, duplicates, transfer declarations and foreign vehicle files.

Take action

Do not stay stuck on an “under analysis” status: order your change of ownership online, a duplicate or a change of address, and receive your title at home. Import, WW, tax clearance or classic case? Write via contact.
